Influential business report and persuasive proposal writing

Overview:

It is often with abject fear that we sit in front of our laptop knowing that we have to prepare a report for senior management or a proposal for some huge investment and we just don’t know where to start. This course is designed to help you ensure that you make your point succinctly and clearly. That you structure your report in a way that flows and engages your reader. It will also help you choose the right charts and diagrams to support your narrative. As an introductory level course it should also provide an excellent foundation for those for whom English may not be their first language.

Learning outcomes:

On completion of this course, you will have a greater understanding of:

  • the essential rules of sentence structure
  • those potential errors missed by spell checker and grammar checker
  • how to plan the structure of documents in a systematic way
  • use the Gunning Fog index to make your submissions more readable
  • the use of diagrams in your reports/proposal
  • how to present your information as succinctly and clearly as possible.
